Why BCorps Month Matters — And What It Really Means to Be One

Every March, something quiet but important happens in the world of business. BCorps Month arrives - and thousands of certified B Corporations around the world take a moment to reflect on why they do what they do, and why it matters more than ever.

We've been a certified BCorp for four years. And every year, this month reminds us that being a BCorp isn't a marketing label - it's a legal commitment, a rigorous standard, and a way of doing business that puts people and planet alongside profit.

So, what actually is a BCorp?

B Corporation certification is awarded by B Lab, an independent non-profit. To earn it, a business must score above 80 points on the B Impact Assessment - a rigorous evaluation covering governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

It's not easy. Less than 1% of businesses globally meet the standard. And once certified, you must recertify every three years - raising the bar each time. There's no coasting on a badge you earned years ago.

For us, achieving and maintaining our BCorp status for four consecutive years represents something we're genuinely proud of - not because it looks good, but because the process forces us to keep asking hard questions about how we operate.

Why BCorps Month matters right now

We're living through a moment of profound greenwashing. Brands slap leaves on their packaging, announce net-zero pledges with no roadmap, and call synthetic fabrics "eco" because they're made from recycled plastic bottles.

BCorps Month exists to cut through that noise. It's a chance for certified businesses to be visible, to educate, and to show consumers that third-party verification - not self-declared virtue - is the gold standard.

When you buy from a BCorp, you're buying from a business that has been audited, assessed, and held accountable. That means something real.

What it means for us — and for what we make

We make the world's only 100% plastic free bras and briefs. No synthetic fibres. No microplastic shedding. No hidden petroleum derivatives. Wire free by design, available in up to 34 proper bra sizes, and built to be genuinely comfortable - because we believe your most intimate clothing should be as good for your body as it is for the earth. We only make 100% organic cotton bras  and briefs and 100% tencel bras and briefs.

And when you're done with them? Our bras can be composted at home. Given the right conditions, they can be completely broken down by worms in as little as eight weeks. They return to the earth without leaving a trace.

This isn't a side project or a capsule collection - it's everything we make. Our BCorp certification holds us accountable to the full picture: our supply chain, our packaging, our team, our community.

Celebrating this March - with something that gives back

To mark BCorps Month, we're offering matching bra and brief bundles with 15% off - available throughout March only.

Bundling isn't just a better deal for you. It means fewer individual parcels, less packaging, and a smaller delivery footprint. It's a small but meaningful way for us to practise what we preach - right down to how we ship.

The bigger picture

Business as usual is no longer good enough. The fashion industry is one of the most polluting on earth - and the intimate apparel category is no exception. Synthetic fibres. Global supply chains. Fast-fashion pricing that externalises every true cost.

We started this brand because we believed it was possible to do things differently. BCorp certification gives that belief teeth - external verification that our standards are real, our progress is measurable, and our commitment is ongoing.

This March, we're proud to celebrate four years as a BCorp. And we're grateful to every customer who's chosen to be part of what we're building — one plastic free, wire free, compostable bra at a time.
