Product Details

Whilst this peach coloured bra uses the same pattern and fit of our Original Black bras, the body is made in premium organic cotton, knitted and GOTs dyed here in Australia.

Everything in this soft-cup bra, from the elastic, tencel sewing thread, pad-print labelling and custom-made hook and eye pieces, is designed to break down in nature at end-of-life and leave no trace as only the best wireless bras can! A truly great cotton bra for everyday.

This wirefree, comfy bra is 100% plastic-free. It has a long band that anchors the bra in place, preventing it stretching over time. It also has a half cup liner in an organic cotton weave to give it more support where needed. Because there is no spandex in the bra, it can run a little smaller in size than your regular bra as it has less stretch. Please check our size chart! For those looking for a light pink bra, or peach bra to match their skin tone under a light coloured top, this is the cotton wirefree bra for you! We also have matching peach underwear.

We fundamentally believe that everything we make in the 21st Century should be designed with its end in sight. No excuses.

FIT GUIDE

For those of you with larger cup sizes, I'd recommend our bras with V wires in the front - V for Victory and Liberty prints. The small front V wire offers great separation and stops anything jiggling out! We are also now starting to make these bras with two different widths of elastic so larger cup sizes can enjoy a broader 20mm strap. Our Black and Indigo V for Victory bras have these new straps.

If you find yourself on the cusp of band sizes, I'd advise you to go up a size. Without spandex and with the longer line band, our bras can feel firmer than you are used to and have less stretch. Best to size up for comfort!

If you are on the cusp of cup sizes, please know that our V for Victory and Liberty print bras have no under-cup channeling and can therefore easily accommodate more breast tissue so you might get into the smaller of two cup sizes, but if you're going for Original Black or Vintage Peach, maybe go up to the next cup.

With briefs, again, no spandex means less stretch and we also don't use stretch thread as conventional undies do (it's plastic), so you may need to size up. If pulled on too roughly or stretched on the waist, the thread can break and you don't want that!

Of course we are always happy to offer personal tailored advice, and also to exchange if we don't get it right first time.

SIZE CHART

We have finally gathered enough data from our customers to produce our own size chart. We recommend you start with the size that you wear and fits you comfortably now, but if this is your first Very Good Bra it's well worth measuring and checking against the below, particularly when buying from overseas where sizing methods are very different!

With no spandex our bras do fit a little differently and can feel firmer around the under-bust. This is reflected in our size guide where you will see the sizes overlap. Some customers with the same under-bust measurements have a preference for a firmer or looser fit, as you will see in the overlap. If you're on the cusp of sizes, then choose which you'd feel more comfortable with, a little firm or a little looser. We take domestic exchanges and both international and domestic returns if your bra doesn't fit.

To use the size guide, measure your under-bust for the band size, and around the largest point of the bust for the cup size. Wearing a thin, soft cup bra whilst doing this should give you the most accurate measurement, and please note all the below are in centimetres (cm).

As above if you feel between sizes, if you decide to go up or down a size on the band, to keep the same cup size, you need to also go up or down one cup size, ie a 12/34C is the same cup size as a 10/32D and a 14/36B. Confused??

Feel free to reach out and ask for any help at any time by emailing our qualified Virtual Bra Fitter Lauren at hello@theverygoodbra.com for extra assistance, ideally with the size and brand of the bra you're currently wearing, as well as your under and over bust measurements as above.

Exceeded my expectations

Hello VGB team, very happy with my vintage peach bra, so I bought another one and the Very Good Bra in black. I looked at the size guide online and found it to be accurate. The material is soft and cool and has been amazing for the recent heatwave conditions in QLD. I am aware that under wire is not good for our health or comfort but did not think it was possible to find a bra without it that was supportive and looked good, well The Very Good Bra Company have achieved just that! I am a size 10 and usually buy A cup size but went with a 14 band as I don't like tightly fitting clothes, the 14/36A is perfect. I am looking forward to adding to my collection. Cheers from Jane.

So comfy!

so very comfortable

Ordered my first "very good bra" and it is amazing. It fit well (thankfully) and is very comfortable. I went by the sizing chart and this helped with the right size. I wore it daily and it's now in the wash so I will be ordering another one. It is slightly firmer than other bras but not uncomfortably so. Highly recommend.

Everything in this plastic-free, black bra, from the tree rubber and organic cotton elastic to the tencel sewing thread is designed to break down in nature at end-of-life and leave no trace. Check here to read more about the disposal of our custom-made organic cotton Hooks and Eyes. Read our blog to see how worms ate the bra in 8 weeks, but this is also durable eco lingerie, a soft cup bra which will wash and wear for a long time. A sustainable bra to be proud to wear, as well as a comfy bra!

Everyone needs a black coloured bra and this wirefree bra is super soft on the body. It has a soft, woven organic cotton liner in the band that sits next to the body and anchors the bra in place, preventing it stretching over time. Because there is no spandex in the soft bra, it can run a little smaller in size than other bras as it has less stretch. Straps are tree rubber elastic so not for those allergic to latex. Straps in all sizes are 13mm width.

We fundamentally believe that everything we make in the 21st Century should be designed with its end in sight. No excuses.

Hazel is a great nude bra for those with a tan skin tone. If you're after a light brown bra or a blush bra to wear under a pale colour, this is the organic cotton bra for you. The body of this comfy bra is our regular organic cotton, but with a front V wire which offers separation in larger cup sizes, and more bulk in smaller cups. A no underwire bra with a little front wire you can't even feel, but that makes all the difference, truly a Victory Bra! The hazel bra has a woven organic cotton liner in the band that sits next to the body and anchors it in place, preventing it stretching over time. Because there is no spandex in this soft bra, it can run a little smaller in size than your regular bra as it has less stretch.

Everything in this cotton bra, from the elastic, tencel sewing thread and custom-made hook and eye pieces is botanically circular, plastic-free, and designed to break down in nature at end-of-life and leave no trace.

We are replacing this style of Hazel bra in May 2023 so stock is currently limited.

Our best-selling bra in our newest colour, Latte! Latte is made with our new, softer web elastic strapping, in 2 widths - 11mm for sizes 32B/C, 34A/B and 36A, with 20mm for all others. We've custom made this strapping with more rubber than in our black V for Victory bras, to make a firmer stretch. We have also made in F and G cups for the first time!

This organic cotton bra is a no underwire bra, as are all of our bras, but it has a front V wire which offers separation in larger cup sizes, and more bulk in smaller cups. Something for everyone, truly a Victory Bra! Latte is super soft, comfy bra which has a woven organic cotton liner in the band that sits next to the body and anchors it in place, preventing it stretching over time. Because there is no spandex in the bra, it can run a little smaller in size than your regular bra in the bands as it has less stretch, but it is more roomy in the cup than Vintage Peach or Original Black, as it has no under cup channeling.

Everything in this plastic-free bra, from the elastic, tencel sewing thread and custom-made hook and eye pieces is botanically circular, designed to break down in nature at end-of-life and leave no trace.

"I have always disliked the feel of bras, but these are so well designed that I forget I am wearing anything at all."

Why so Very Good?

We believe that everything we create should be designed with its end of life in mind. We are unique in that even our elastic, labels, sewing thread and packaging is compostable. Our bras contain no spandex, and every component has its origin in the earth, to which we hope your bra will in time harmlessly return, rather than add to our landfill burden.

Our bra is also good because it fits and supports comfortably across 34 sizes, with no underwire. We find that once our customers leave the wire, they rarely go back!

Landfill

Australians send 85% of textiles to landfill, two thirds of which are man made synthetic fibres like Polyester which take 200 years to break down. We use compostable textiles for our bra, and compostable packaging, whilst minimising production waste through pre-selling and making only to order - true Slow Fashion!

We still need bras!

Before they end up in landfill, synthetic textiles release half a million tonnes of plastic microfibre into our oceans through washing. It is estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans. We can change this by making better choices about the fabrics we buy and this includes your bra.
