There’s a lot of greenwashing in fashion, but a truly sustainable bra can’t contain even 1% of spandex or polyester. Once plastic is added, it can never return to the earth. At The Very Good Bra, we design every piece from the end backwards. Our fabrics are organic cotton or Tencel, both grown and processed without harmful chemicals. The elastic is made from natural rubber knitted into cotton, and the sewing thread is 100% cellulose. Labels are printed directly on the fabric using certified safe inks. Every part of the bra is made to break down naturally when it’s finished, not sit for centuries in landfill.
The impact is bigger than it looks. Around 85% of textiles end up in landfill, two thirds of which are synthetic and take hundreds of years to decompose. We design to stop that cycle. Every sustainable bra we make helps cut the flow of microplastics into waterways and methane into the atmosphere. It’s proof that comfort and conscience can share a wardrobe.
There’s no need for compromise. These bras are breathable, long lasting, and kind to sensitive skin. They look good, feel soft, and do the right thing by the planet. Sustainability doesn’t need a logo or a label – it needs design that takes responsibility for what happens next.
