I'm a sustainability freak. A hardcore sustainability nerd. I do so much research to ensure there's no plastic in what I consume. I'm not perfect but there are some things you can control. And I was so pleased to see that I could stop using plastic in my bras.
My bras were the saddest things you've ever seen because I didn't want to switch to a unsustainable bra.
Shopping sustainably is hard. Shopping bras sustainably is harder. It's more expensive, everyone treats sustainability differently and then, let's talk about style. Boy. It's like sustainability in fashion needs to be nonexistent. And I don't know why, but it seems like supporting our boobies also isn't important in sustainability.
Finding The Very Good Bra was exciting. No plastic. YESSSS. No unpleasant designs. YESSS. But I must admit that I was worried about support. I have larger breasts, and I wasn't sure how this was going to go.
But I had to find out.
And I'm so glad I did. Honestly, I tried my bra on as soon as it arrived, scared it wouldn't do the trick and it just felt like the best thing to wear in the world.
It was comfortable, supportive and looking a lot better on me than what I was imagining looking at the models on the website (nothing against the models - they are all beautiful). I thought the band under the cups would be more like a sports bra, but it really doesn't feel that way, and it's just comfortable. It literally feels like I'm wearing nothing.
It's amazing.
Not excited to talk about the end of these bras, but I'll certainly be back for more when the time comes. I didn't know until now that a bra could be this comfortable AND supportive.
