Our impact in 2021

In late December, after many years' work on and off, we finally submitted our BCorps application. Click the link to find out more if you don't know about it, it's a fast-growing movement to make business a force for good through transparency. All that leg work enables me to share with your our positive impact in 2021, which I will continue going forward on an annual basis. So in 2021:
  • We potentially saved 41kgs of conventional bras, briefs and basics from landfill by botanically circular products
  • Based on this research, we've potentially saved 1.7kgs of micro-plastics from our oceans through laundering, because our products are plastic-free
  • We've doubled our spend with Social Venture Avenue Co-working, becoming our hub's largest client. This means more participants can engage in order fulfilment work and Avenue can reach a wider audience of people with disabilities, further spreading its positive effect on this community
  • 56% of our materials were purchased by female-founded businesses
  • 100% of our materials purchased had either GOTS, Cradle to Cradle or Oeko Tex certification
  • 17% of our manufacturing costs were spent here in Sydney and 100% of our services costs in Australia
  • As well as a $1 donation per sale, over 50 pro-bono hours were donated
  • We moved to a BCorps Bank - Bank Australia - customer owned, responsible banking committed to a positive impact
BCorps has been an education and a lot of work, but I'm grateful for the opportunity it's given me to define and measure our impact, so we can work on doing more each year.
