We've used our original, launch tencel in our best-selling recent V for Victory bra style to create the ultimate everyday Very Good Bra!
Everything in this plastic-free bra, from the tree rubber and organic cotton elastic to the tencel sewing thread is designed to break down in nature at end-of-life and leave no trace.
This underwire-free bra is super soft on the body, but its small front V wire offers shape, support and separation. It has a soft, woven organic cotton liner in the band that sits next to the body and anchors the bra in place, preventing it stretching over time. Because there is no spandex in the bra, it can run a little smaller in size than other bras as it has less stretch. Straps are tree rubber elastic so not for those allergic to latex.
For this production we are using a new, softer webbing elastic in the same materials and from the same supplier, but specifically designed for bra straps! We have also created two new strap widths. Straps are 11mm wide in size 30/8-34/12 A to C cups and 36/14 A and B cups, all other sizes have our new wide 20mm width straps. Whilst 20mm may sound wide the straps look great and are wonderfully retro!

We fundamentally believe thateverything we make in the 21st Century should be designed with its end in sight. No excuses.

I’m so disappointed that the bra has very little support and no padding so my nipples still stick out
Hi Sandra, I’m sorry for your disappointment. We’ve yet to find a 100% compostable padding that doesn’t shrink multiple times, although I’m always looking and may have found something just this week

Most comfortable bra I've ever bought
I'm a 14DD and I find The Very Good Bras to be a perfect fit. The V for Victory gives a good coverage with no bits cutting in anywhere. This is my third VGB and won't be my last.

Happy with purchase
This is my fourth V For victory bra, but the first tencel version with the wider straps. I like the wider straps, and the tencel is so lovely and soft to wear, although I did notice that the softer fabric doesn't seem to hold you in for as much shape as the cotton version as it has a bit more 'give' in it. Love these bras though!

This is the only bra I’m gonna wear! It’s comfortable, supportive, no headlights, and fits great!

Comfortable and sustainable
Soft and comfortable. I love the idea that I can potentially change the elastic to give it a longer life before composting!

almost perfect
I love the business model, materials and construction amazing. Very comfortable. Best bra I have. My only issue is that I don't have enough coverage in the between breast section. When I lie on my right side my left breast pops out and vise versa. This also happens, to a lesser extent when upright. This leads to having to adjust my breasts back into the cups or be uncomfortable. I have tried two models, The Victory and The very good bra with the same results. I am still using my bras but I use them with a sports bra which helps keep my breasts where I want them and helps hide any weird bulges if my breast pop out.

Disappointed
5 stars for the business, customer service & shipping. 2 stars for the bra because I can’t wear it.
Firstly, I love the concept and ideals of the bra (and the business) and that’s what motivated me to try the bra - I wouldn’t discourage others from trying because there are so few comparable options in the market and it is still a well made product.
I really struggled to pick the right size and emailed to confirm based on my measurements (which I was also unsure if I was taking correctly) and my old bra - the recommended size came out as a 16C - which is sadly too big and just poor fitting on me. I wear a size 14 clothing wise for tops etc so I probably should have known better?
I persevered to try and give it a go but the rings are also so uncomfortable and irritating for me. I’ve worn it - so I can’t really exchange it. And it was a big investment, so I can’t replace it either. I wanted to love it - but it just doesn’t fit properly. Maybe I’m a weird shape and we all know how hard it is to find a good fitting bra, but of course I am disappointed.
If there’s a place to donate for someone else to try it out, please let me know.
Hi Adeka, so sorry the size didn't work after everything. Our measurement chart works well based on customer sizing feedback but it's not 100% for everyone, we are all so different. If the bra is worn, we do have a Facebook Buy Swap and Sell group where it may go on to find a new home and return some of your investment. Thanks for trying.
A 3 pack of everyday undies in black to gift yourself or a friend who cares about the evils of landfill. Made in premium Lenzing Tencel, knitted and GOTs dyed here in Australia, the elastic and sewing threads are Cradle 2 Cradle gold certified, and the labelling is pad-print using OEKO TEX inks . All of these components are chosen for their ability to break down in nature at end-of-life and leave no trace. These briefs match our original The Very Good Bra in black tencel.
Our classic boy-leg brief has elastic only in the waist to give you maximum comfort and breathability, with no VPL. (Note - customer feedback tells us these briefs aren't best for days you are wearing a pad because legs aren't elasticated). These briefs contain no spandex to keep them fully compostable, and so have a looser fit. If you're on the cusp of sizes, buy a size down.

These are super soft and comfortable and even though I thought they might rise up they don’t. Love them

Amazing!
I have never worn such incredibly comfortable undies! I really prefer the looser/freer fit with no spandex. The Very Good Bra's attention to sustainability blows me away! I want to keep shopping here!

Love!
Thank you for making sustainable underwear! They are true to size - I bought my usual size XS - they have a looser fit than underwear you get elsewhere, but not to worry, they don't ride down or up. Although they are thinner than my other cotton underwear, I will be buying more of these once I retire my old ones. And no VPL, omg! Please make them in hipster and brazilian too!

Love that they’re eco, but a bit too hipster
I love all the compostable principles behind why I bought these undies. And they’re super soft and breathable. I’m not in love with the design though. They sit really low on my hips and I feel like they’re a bit “itsy bitsy”. I prefer a fuller underwear these days for my everyday wears. The boy leg helps, but they’re just so low. Any chance you could broaden your designs so I can try again?
sorry to hear this. We have since launched our Big Knickers and High-leg briefs which you might like better?
A new style for us based on your positive feedback on our organic cotton Big Knickers. With good coverage all over, these briefs, unlike our others, also have soft leg elastic to hold them close.

Sewing thread is 100% tencel
As well as being bang on trend, as ever, this brief is zero post-consumer waste. Every component from the elastic, sewing thread, and the tencel base fabric are designed to break down in nature at end-of-life and leave no trace. These briefs contain no spandex in order to keep them fully compostable.

Comfy and flattering. They don't come up as high on me as they do on the models (I am 5'8" so medium tall) and I wish they did. Maybe I'll try a size up next time. But they're still good! Definitely an improvement on the original Very Good Undies. If the durability is as good as my VG Bras, I will definitely buy more of these in the future.
